The Lincoln Bindery is located across from a forest preserve and surrounded by native prairie grasses which we actively cultivate. This involves burning the prairie every spring and results in lush prairie plants (some are over 10 feet tall!) in the summer. The picture at the top of the page is our native prairie plants at the edge of our parking lot in the late summer morning light. At the bottom right is a spider wort blossom.

The building was built in 1984 to house the bindery. It is heavily insulted and oriented to take advantage of solar gain and a view of the forest preserve across the street. Our power bills are low and for a shop type space the comfort level is high. Good work comes from a good work space.
